Pleasant, mild weather with lower humidity. Popular with snowbirds — beaches and parking can be busy.
Spring (Mar–May)
Considered the best time to visit with warm temperatures, dry weather, and vibrant sunsets.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Hot and humid with afternoon showers. Water is warmest — also sea turtle nesting season.
Fall (Sep–Nov)
Quieter overall with excellent beach weather. Fewer crowds and great value later in the season.
Getting There
From Sarasota
Anna Maria Island is about 25-30 miles from downtown Sarasota, typically a 45-60 minute drive depending on traffic. Take SR-64 (Manatee Avenue) into Holmes Beach and Anna Maria, or Cortez Road (SR-684) into Bradenton Beach and Coquina Beach.
